ABOUT THE HOME

With a clean, calm aesthetic, I wanted the homeowners to experience a more casual approach to living in this coastal retreat. Oak tones, layered textiles, and a refined, coastal-inspired palette run throughout, offering cohesion while allowing each room to carry its own personality. The homeowners lean toward transitional design moments. Think timeless lines, organic materials, and elevated touches. The house offers a classic foundation with subtle touches of contemporary and coastal styles, while the overall aesthetic is easy and relaxed.

FOYER

In the foyer, I added a wooden console by Ibolili, crafted from bonded teak driftwood, as a grounding piece to create immediate interest.

LIVING ROOM

Kravet Jazz sofas play into the ease of Florida living with their elegant shapes and performance fabrics. The burlwood nesting tables, which fill the space beautifully, were sourced from RH, and bring in rich cool and warm tones that perfectly complement the wood in the nearby kitchen.

STUDY

In the study, which overlooks the backyard and fire pit, we opted for custom-built cabinetry with file storage and shelving in a classic blue tone. The Antigua chandelier from Visual Comfort and gray/blue grass-cloth ceiling infuse texture.

KITCHEN

In the kitchen, a hand-glazed, hand-thrown Moroccan Zellige tile and natural stone island and countertop offer moments of organic texture. Visual Comfort pendant lights overhead introduce a pop of gold in the space.

DEN

The shiplap walls continue the natural woven texture of the home. A black-and-white photograph above the sofa offers a glimpse of Naples in the 1950s. The light fixture is by Palecek.

DINING ROOM

Brash metal detailing pairs with Moondust quartzite and rich navy cabinetry in the dining room. The casual setup includes a table, a custom wooden bench, and chairs by Palecek.

PRIMARY BEDROOM SUITE

I wanted to infuse as much texture as possible in the primary bedroom, so I went with a rope bed from Bernhardt as a contemporary nod to nature and palms. For the primary bath, I wanted a refreshing spa ambiance, using white stones and neutral textures to achieve a sense of calm.

OUTDOOR KITCHEN

For the outdoor kitchen, I wanted to create a welcoming area for friends and family to gather, using a beachy quartzite backsplash and cabinetry made of cypress, a species I chose for its durability in humid climates.
